SOUR CREAM DESSERT SAUCE
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon dry instant diet vanilla pudding mix
2 tablespoons granular Splenda or equivalent liquid Splenda
1/4 teaspoon blackstrap molasses
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Mix all of the ingredients in a small bowl; chill until thickened. Serve over cake or muffins.
Makes about 1/2 cup
With granular Splenda:
Per Tablespoon: 35 Calories; 3g Fat; trace Protein; 1.5g Carbohydrate; trace Dietary Fiber; 1.5g Net Carbs
With liquid Splenda:
Per Tablespoon: 33 Calories; 3g Fat; trace Protein; 1g Carbohydrate; trace Dietary Fiber; 1g Net Carb
I found this recipe in a Penzey's spice catalog but their recipe called for real brown sugar. This almost tastes like it has apples in it. Although it tastes pretty good, I wasn't thrilled with it and won't make the recipe again.
UPDATE: I wanted to mention that my husband loved this stuff. He just ate it with a spoon like pudding and said it was one of the tastiest things that he'd ever eaten.
