BBQ TURKEY BURGERS
20 ounces ground turkey
1 small onion, chopped fine, 2 1/2 ounces
1/4 cup low carb barbecue sauce *
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon Montreal steak seasoning
4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, in 1/4" dice
1 tablespoon oil

In a large bowl, mix everything except the cheese and oil. Gently fold in the diced cheese. Shape in 4 patties, about an inch thick. Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook the burgers 5-6 minutes per side or until done to your liking.

Makes 4 servings
Can be frozen

These taste very good but next time I might try sautéeing the onions rather than putting them in raw. Because of the fat in the cheese, these will make huge, greasy mess all over your stove. You may want to cook them on an outdoor grill if you'd rather not have to clean the whole kitchen afterwards. Click the photo to see a close-up.
